Our client is one of the biggest Public Bank company in Indonesia Indonesian state-owned bank. It has branches primarily in Indonesia, but also found in Seoul, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London and New York. It had 1000 branches and over 9 million customers in 2006.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing the management, development, and implementation of critical applications that support our business operations. As the VP – IT Application Enterprise Services, you will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery, maintenance, and enhancement of the bank’s application portfolio.
- Lead the strategic planning, development, and implementation of the bank’s application systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
- Oversee the entire application lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support and maintenance.
- Collaborate with business units to identify and prioritize application needs, ensuring that solutions meet functional requirements, security standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage a team of application developers, analysts, and support personnel, providing leadership, guidance, and support in their day-to-day activities.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, promoting the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices within the application development and management processes.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring effective management of vendor contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and support partnerships.
- Develop and implement robust application governance processes, including change management, release management, and incident management, to minimize disruptions and ensure system availability.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure that applications are designed and maintained with appropriate security controls, protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.
- Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and regulatory requirements related to application development, and proactively recommend enhancements and updates to the bank’s application portfolio.
- Prepare and present regular reports on application performance, project status, and resource utilization to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) are preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 8-10 years) in application development and management, preferably in the financial services or banking industry is a MUST
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps, with hands-on experience in leading application development projects from initiation to deployment.
- Solid knowledge of application architecture, design principles, and coding practices, including familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python.
- Experience in managing enterprise-level application portfolios, including off-the-shelf solutions and custom-developed applications.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to effectively guide, mentor, and motivate a team of application professionals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively engage with senior management.
- Demonstrated expertise in application governance, including change management, release management, and incident management processes.
- Familiarity with IT security principles, including secure coding practices, data encryption, and vulnerability management within application development.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex application projects on time and within budget.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
